Liverpool are now nine points clear at the top of the Premier League, their biggest margin as leaders in the competition since the final day of the 2019-20 campaign; Reds travel to Newcastle United on Wednesday night, then to archrivals Everton on Saturday lunchtime. The Sporting CP star overtook Erling Haaland as the top scorer in the Nations League as he continues to outscore the Man City striker this season. Gyokeres started the evening with five goals in five Nations League matches. His third goal against Azerbaijan took him to eight goals in six games in this edition of the Nations League, one more than Haaland. But the 26-year-old didn’t stop there as he added a fourth goal soon after. Haaland had been top scorer ahead of the final round of games after scoring seven goals for Norway, including a hat-trick in their 5-0 win over Kazakhstan on Sunday. Little did he know that his tally would be bettered. However, Gyokeres was also involved in the build-up for Dusan Kulusevski’s opening goal. That means he came away fr...
